Passionately crafted handmade jewelry inspired by the beauty of humanity.

Seville for the People creates exclusive jewelry designed to mimic the uniqueness of streetwear through hand-crafted techniques. Our profound desire for worldwide unity has ignited an incredible sense of power, creativity and imagination within our company. With exceptionally diverse materials, we confidently aim to redefine the jewelry industry and have an uplifting impact on society.

Seville for the People believes that creative expression fosters an innovative mindset that is absolutely vital to an individual’s mental growth and physical health. We have a fierce belief in the power of artistic expression. Creativity fosters an innovative mindset that nourishes our mental and physical health. Actively using your imagination cultivates a powerful skill set in analytical thinking, problem solving and ingenuity. In addition, our ability to create new ideas and let our imagination wander promotes better self-esteem, sharpens our mind and brings us to a meditative state. After our own powerful journey of healing through design, we decided to hold jewelry design labs, so others could share in the magic. Our mission is to share our secrets of healing with as many people as possible. It is for that reason that we have introduced Healing Jewelry Design Labs, and Candy Community Jewelry Design Labs for Kids.

We offer extraordinary jewelry design healing labs that invite the imagination to wander

.

A HERITAGE OF HEALING Our first Jewelry Lab took place in a remote village in the El Salvadorian countryside in 2016, alongside Peace Corps Volunteers that propelled forward within us the concept to share healing by design. We continue our work with the same group of women and have committed to expanding the program to include economic development opportunities by way of work-exchange. In the Fall, we will be providing the women with part-time positions where they will craft earrings for our company through the Holidays. Simultaneously, we will be collaborating with a women's shelter in the US where we will be offering weekly Healing Jewelry Design Labs as well as offering the work exchange program to select participants, and programming that includes guest speakers. The women in our jewelry making program are paid minimum wage/fair trade and work according to their own hours. We offer flexible part-time positions in an attempt to support our partners in prioritizing their family and life responsibilities.

Acquiring a new descriptive and emotive vocabulary is a vital part of learning to effectively express oneself. Projects that require some degree of planning (such as making patterns, choosing colors, deciding on designs) are fantastic for aiding in cognitive growth, and personal confidence. We provide entertaining creative activities that fuel hidden motivation and inspiration, presenting the participant with design options to self- navigate through, emerging with a reimagined piece of jewelry,  all their own.

WHAT WE DO, WHY WE DO IT

After experiencing a great personal loss that would change the trajectory of her life over a decade ago, founder Seville Michelle. She sought to heal through designing jewelry, after reading an inspiring book about healing though the art of craft. Not only did she discover her passion, but she found a purpose beyond her wildest dreams. She created Healing Jewelry Design Labs and HoopDreams Candy Community Labs to inspire the neglected and marginalized with the magic of design. With a mission to ignite their imaginations with new possibilities by using design as a tool for change, she coined the phrase “Practice Makes Purpose” to promote the meditative and healing side that comes with crafting.

Seville brought her vision to heal through the meditative process of jewelry design to the Bronx Women’s Empowerment group. While sharing her personal journey, she invited the women to create bracelets using material provided by group curator Nicole James. The Healing Jewelry Design Lab concluded with Polaroid pictures in front of a hand-drawn crown. Thank you to the Bronx Art Space for providing an oasis of inspiration in the center of the Bronx.

Creating wearable candy jewelry is incredibly stimulating to a child’s imagination. Exploring likes and dislikes while designing encourages individualistic expression and provides an opportunity for a small deceleration of self. Assembling each piece aids in the development of planning skills and hand dexterity. Children can indulge in their artistic side while establishing essential cognitive abilities. When children talk about their creative choice and projects, it fosters speaking and language skills. The ability to express their plans and connect with other children promotes mindfulness and social skills.

“exploring your likes and dislikes when designing DEVELOPS skills, and encourages creative choice and self expression.”

By prompting children to talk about their creative choice, it aids in their language development as they are encouraged to find new ways to talk about their projects. Acquiring new descriptive and emotive vocabulary is a vital part of their learning to effectively express themselves—a skill that is fundamental in how well they interact with other people. A project that requires some degree of planning, such as making patterns from candy, choosing colors for a bracelet, or deciding how to make necklace, are all superb for helping children to develop their cognitive skills.
